I started doing these things because of my travel and the ability to do them all in a hotel room. Also, if it works for the military, it can work for me.
You should come to Crossfit one Saturday morning with me! You aren't too far away at your new digs. Would probably be a 10 minute drive max.

How much is CrossFit for everyone? The one up here is $100 a month for unlimited classes or $10 a class. The people who run it make no profit. They use all money for new equipment (just got a few rowing machines) and rent for the building they use. Down state is significantly more for less classes. If I can manage 5 days a week it comes out to $5 a class (20 classes a month) which is dirt cheap.

After a while the way you start looking at it is that you can't put a price on knowing that you are going to be in better condition than 99% of the people you come across and that you'll be ready and able to do just about anything. You essentially become a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Do any of you guys have some tips for working out in evenings?

I prefer mornings by a landslide. It just sets up for positive day, whereas by the evenings I'm already slightly tired from classes and being up 10hours. Unfortunately, due to classes, I have no choice but to attend the evening CrossFit sessions.

I went tonight and didn't have the motivation and energy I've had all week in the mornings and could tell the difference.

Try taking something like jack3d or ACG3 beforehand. Be careful if you're sensitive to caffeine. Alternatively you can do your own circuit training early in the morning which is every bit as effective if you push yourself.

Interesting that the prices for crossfit varies from place to place. It's about 160 a month for unlimited classes where I go or 10 dollars drop in but usually the owners just let us drop in for free. The drop in fee here in Hawaii is 20 bucks. Dont know what their monthly rate is but it's probably much higher. Their 12 week "transform" program is $700 so that'd lead me to think its about $230 a month.

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
I would suggest drinking a cup of coffee (black) or have a quad espresso before you head to the gym at night. It works for me.
