Poor Lou is cursed because he looks and sounds like a meathead even if he isn't.

I work with a lot of brainiacs and although there are the stereotypical out of shape or 98 lb weaklings, a surprising amount were jocks throughout life.

Lou was horrible on the show. I'm sorry but he is dumb as fvck, and I cannot stand this 110% bullshiat he has been pulling since the first episode.

I could stare at Dayana all day.

had a very "un normal" work out today... my daughter and wife have been sick so this was the first day I was able to get to the gym... and I have a tournament this weekend so decided to cram it all into one day....

warmed up with 4 sets of 15 BW dips
then 4 sets of bench 5 reps, working my way to 215 on the 5th set and did that 8 times.
4 sets on Squat, 5th set 215 x10
4 sets on DL, 5th set 230x8

I am going pretty light right now... I dont want to ramp up to fast and hurt injure my leg again...

Wed I actually flipped my tire 60 times and got 500 jumps on the jump rope... make shift work out.

rested all day yesterday, carbed up and had a lot of recovery food calorie wise and in DATES!
had white rice at lunch. 2 multigrain toasts for a chicken sandwich at lunch as well. another 2 toasts for another chicken sandwich for dinner. probably up to 5 chicken breasts with 100g or so turkey.
also consumed my first casien/oatmeal pancake i make for late night snack - it was very bananaish haha, need to learn how to mix and make these!!
not sure what else i ate, but i didn't take Meltdown on purpose so my appetite is back up to eat for recovery.

worked as a charm. weighed in at 86.3kg -better than i expected- post workout today which was:
10min stairs
2km run
2km incline walk
360m swim
some lower abs workout

note: i am NOT that interested in what i see on the scale per se; but i NEED to know what is happening with the food i am eating ESPECIALLY after rest. i am making sure i am losing fat, checked by the mirror, but at ~170cm i cannot afford to be anything over 80kg if i am to tweak my workout later.

this was purposefully planned and i expected to be at 87kg post workout today so to be back at EXACTLY what i was at my LOWEST for the last 3 weeks is just ... BEAUTIFUL i am back to understanding my body and knowing what i should do to know what i should expect in terms of results. i am pacing myself so i don't just lose the water and gain it all back in a week, hence the pausing and checking and adjusting the diet every now and then!
i can now go on to work out and eat as i did for the last 3 weeks, for at least another 10 days, this should yield, based on previous experience, at least another 2kg WEIGHT loss, which i will take GLADLY

if by next friday 20th, i am at 84-85kg, TESTED (i.e rested and not carb/fat deprived for 48hrs), i will be so psyched as this will mean that i reached my goal in a month - when i set out myself to achieve it over 6 weeks

here's what i am eating, thanks to Rob Riches i added cinnamon and that makes a HUGE difference!!
the parsley was added a few days ago after i was grocery shopping with my wife and told her i LOVED parsley with feta and haloumi cheese .. so i figured i'd add it to chicken breast

lemon squeeze, garlic, cinammon, black pepper, parsley
deleted the sauce (hickory bbq) since it's really not needed anymore
the sandwiches i made yesterday were just with toasted multigrains and 2 slices of turkey, with mustard spreaded.. this is going to be my maintenance-meal during summer for sure!!! HUGELY RECOMMEND YOU GUYS TRY IT

85kg and then it is soooooo on to break into the 70s .. it's been over 2yrs

Knocked out 315 x 3 romanian dead lifts on my last set. Hope I can get close to 400 in coming months then get back into doing heavy cleans.

Anyone doing a no-wheat diet?

i am trying as much as i can to limit direct carbs, alternating them for veggies with my chicken. i do that to lose weight (not just bodyfat shrinking) and it is working, but of course when i get back on direct carbs some of the weight racks back on as i expect.

the loss in energy and power is there, but i introduce bananas and oranges and apples for some simple sugars with vitamins and the VPX Meltdown caffienne makes sure i am boosting on fake energy

i am assuming with no-wheat you are excluding brown rice, and with that i am even MORE non-wheating since my preferred direct carb is brown rice (with 2 cans of tuna). i had 4 brown toasts 2 days ago on my rest day as mentioned above, and a day later on a cardio-day i managed to run, walk incline, swim, work my core without much dizziness

no-wheat WORKS for weight loss, not necessarily fat loss per se.
it does work as well to force new habits like eating veggies and brown rice and realizing that they are actually GREAT alternatives

still i personally would not do it for more than 72hrs
and even then, multigrain toast in the toaster works best for that flavour, crunchiness, and thinking it is a treat

Hmm interesting, I am familiar with a few people who do this diet (the paleo diet) and have lost zero strength. A guy I do some work with actually has been on it for awhile and said he actually has more energy.

I'd like to find a balance because I do love food of all sorts but am curious about how this works.

tbh i find that the best way to find out how this works is to EXPERIMENT yourself i don't pay attention to the serving portions and grams and all that for my intake because i can sensibly 'judge' it by how i am feeling + knowing how hard/easy i pushed myself at the gym. of course i read for and watch vids of the pros and the specialists for the general info but the implementation is judged in my kitchen

wow it would be great to learn of how he is reporting extra strength. perhaps he's introducing nuts, some dairy, red meat into the diet to compensate for calories and up the boost with good fats. i did think about doing that but, at my current 86-87kg i cannot afford to as i wish to lose another 7kg (already 5kg down ) before rethinking the whole regiment

as for balance, i find that the best balance is maintained by having "food fads", which usually take 3-5 days of experimentation with what to spice the food with as to enjoy it and then i am good to go for 4 weeks. things start to get bland by then and i try to find another big thing.
it was pesto for me when my bro started using it for his food & pasta, then lemon squeeze for my chicken, and now it's cinnamon! the whole thing is working great and i am getting good, steady results

may i just remind you that a no-wheat, limited-carb-overall diet will yield great results esp in the mirror and to touch when you run your hand over your mid section; BUT i would suggest that you FORCE some wheat/flour/direct carb (even simple! white rice + sugars) into your diet once every 3-4 days just to make sure that the body is not squeezing out the water out of the cells and under the skin; but actually getting busy at hitting that glycogen and fat reserve

psychologically for me i expect the scale to always go down, but now i LOVE seeing my weight go up when i WANT it to and by exactly how MUCH i want it/expect it
please share current stats and post up results as time goes by! we need all the motivation from the fellas

Why do you guys focus on wheat specifically?

Not that I'm saying there is anything wrong per se with giving up wheat, in most people's diet bread is pretty much not needed.
