Yeah

There are actually a number of US plaintiffs as well, but mostly Yuropeans.

Jox - thanks for the info... I figure it's $5K, not $105K. If I need to put $5K in, big deal. I just don't want the engine/tranny going pop and costing $10-15K. If I were going to buy an E30, it'd be an M3 - found some gorgeous ones right at $20K.

My DD is an '01 210, e430 Sport. Has 233,000 on it now, and still gets 28mpg on the highway. Has the rust issue. It is my DD though, so I really don't care, it starts and runs fine, everything works.

I really don't know the market over there but considering they are from the same era, I imagine they would cost the same. In that case, I would rather get an E36 M3 Sedan than this.. Much more reliable and with a proper gearbox. Still got the looks too...

That bmw is a lot faster too, not sure if US spec is 321bhp too..

But I think the c36 is more an emotional choice of the OP I believe.

North American M3's came with 240hp.
Its even hard to find decent E46 M3, let alone a well taken care of e36 M3.

Also, a decent E36 (i.e. one that looks in as good a condition as this C36 I found) will cost double or more than $5K.

There is some good news semi-related to the fun car hunt (say that fast ) - we found a house we want to buy that's $200K less than we were planning to spend. HELLO, CAR BUDGET!
