Ok, I'll say it. I just don't get this one Chris. I've been right there with you on all the others, what the hell brought this one on?

^ I'd have to agree, i'd save up your money for something more significant or mod's, etc. This car really can't have much of an upside given that u have a car that's much more fun to drive in the c4s, and this thing will most likely end up costing just as much as the purchase price in repair, maintenance etc, i would just hold out for the real thing (GT3). just my 2c.

Agree! Tempting as it is to get into an AMG for peanuts, this is a potential disaster. The 2.3-16v had character at least and it still looks good.

You guys must not have read the first post. The reasons for my interest were posted there. It doesn't look likely again. Guess who said so...

Buy it, and buy it now. My second Benz was a C36,1996, bought it in 2000. I have owned three M3's, 650 and a 645 convert, CLK 500, E class, Cayman S, one Boxster, two Boxster S's and oddly enough a second gen MR2 Turbo. I miss that damn black C36 the most. I had the monoblocks chromed and put a HUGE stereo in it. God it was fun. Sold it to a priest from Montana and bought a 1998 M3 and a CLK, big mistake. DOOOOO IT!

Hey Chris, I didn't read the entire thread but I can see the interest. As a note, one of my business friends from Tampa had a C36 and it was one of his favorite cars of all time. To give you an idea of his eclectic tastes, he has an 850 CSI/6 Speed and a 760 Sport (he's a commercial real estate broker). He's owned Porsches, BMW's and an Audi S8 and the C43. Go for it!

designo is an unknown quantity at this point
Looks like a good find to me. However, if you can get your hands on the 2.3 Cosworth prepped 190E EVO.... don't pass it up! That machine is amazing.
