Agree! I saw a MEAN Ford GT today. Red with white stripes. The windows had been tinted a little and it had a Corsa Exhaust System.

Very cool man. I started competitively in 80cc junior shifters, moved through the 80cc classes, and then up through the 125cc shifters and eventually into ICC. Loved it while it lasted, but it got way too expensive and time consuming. It was definitely a thrill, but honestly, I have way more fun racing in the SCCA where I can bang fenders and not have to worry about ending up rubber side up!

Yep, I started very young too. In fact I have a third degree burn on about 40% of my arm as proof that I prolly started too young! What series did you predominantly run in? We ran SKUSA and WKA and eventually got into ICC stuff. Karts are fun as hell, but beat the everlasting shit out of your body and at the national level, you're lucky to get in a season under $100K. Fvcking crazy considering they are KARTS! You still run them at all?

The Sprint Cup cars weigh 3200LBS exactly. Nationwide weigh 3100 and Trucks weigh 3450. They use to be much lighter but they added a ton of safety features in the new Car of Tomorrow. The CoT is basically a radically new chassis, architecture, and engine. After Dale Earnhardt Sr's untimely and very sad death they revised the entire car from top to bottom. Since then no person has died, thank God. To show how safe these cars truly are watch this.
Elliot Sadler hit the wall head-on at 80G's! Knocked the engine right out of the car. It was the hardest crash in NASCAR history.

They also determine what engine to use. This engine is a brain child of 20+ years of American engineering. Recently Toyota and TRD joined the fold and made reliability that much better. As for engine changes in NASCAR, the only thing I see set in stone is the Fuel Injection. On a final note I read an article in one of my NASCAR magazines that stated the first dyno readings of these new Ethanol Fuel Injected engines projected peak torque and horsepower at 9,800 RPM to be 1000 even!
