According to member Scott26 (BMW Factory Employee we gather) at Bimmerpost, he claims that these photos are no indication of an M3 sedan making it to production. Rather, BMW had only an F30 prototype to use for testing the M3 parts and components.

I'm confused. So now we have possible three turbos... e-turbos acting as superchargers... traditional turbos... 3 series... 4 series (?)... oh my.

M should stop screwing around and just go for the gusto: Six-turbochargers feeding an inline-6, one turbo per cylinder making tons of boost with no lag.

Maybe they could do 6 turbochargers, and three work at a time, while the other three are spooling up, then upon lift, and upshift, or a downshift, the other three can be activated, while the current ones shut off, and begine spooling etc.

cool idea

but where does all the (cold) air come from then?
Huge "induction kit" from factory?
