Spied Again: 2013 Porsche 911 GT3

Our trusty Teamspeed spies share with us today the new Porsche 991 based GT3 prototype testing on wintery public roads. In these photos we can clearly see the typical GT3-style front bumper and the staple centered twin exhaust pipes. This prototype did not have the large rear affixed as he other prototype we spotted last month but we can assure you the new GT3 will have one as have all preventions generations of GT3's.

Power is expected to be around 450 horsepower and as mentioned earlier in the week, August Achleitner, the 911 project chief, confirmed that Porsche's motorsport division is currently testing both manual and PDK versions of the new GT3. Only one transmission will ultimately be offered for sale, and Achleitner reckons the PDK is the favorite to get the nod.

nice front bumper and side sticker turbo intake. The rest is a 991carrera. not hatin on the p car these days but as soon as i heard pdk only I kinda stopped getting my hopes up. 997gt3rs ftw I love my porsches but I love my manual gearboxes more. i am ever interested in checking out more but to be honest im scared of the pdk only rumor. Everyones intitled to there own opinion but I mean wow, what are they thinking on the pDK only bid.

 

Looks like I'll be in the market for a 7.2 GT3 in the next few years.

The front bumper looks good. I have a feeling though that both PDK and manual will be offered.

 

I haven't heard anyone mention it yet, but is this the "widebody" "C4S/Turbo/GTxRS" version of the 991 we are seeing here?

I wonder why they put the "turbo" side scoop stickers on the side...

Love it though. I'm thinking they're going to offer both transmissions as well.
