WTF those aren't push-ups LOL.

For a while I was doing 200+ push-ups everyday. Keep in mind it was 100 when I first woke up, broken down to 3 sets of 33 w/ (+1 on final set) w/ 45s-1m rest in between sets, and same before bed. My point is that I would do them much slower, with much stiffer form; Each set I'd do at different shoulders length.

Unfortunately it ended up fvcking up my wrist, and since then I always have to wrap my wrists at the gym when doing any lifting whatsoever. Not to mention my overall bench went down while I was on this regimen.

Over the next month or so I'm going to start doing at least 100 every morning again.

Just got back to the gym yesterday after a 10+ day break because I overextended a ligament in the sole of my foot. Not fun.

I usually do push ups on my off days, different sets at different speeds like you do. I use push-up grips though, like these:

You should try them, it might help your wrist and it allows you to go lower down. You can use them to do hip push-ups as well.

Well, welcome back Yon. Haven't seen you in these parts in a while. And congrats on your 6000th post too. I know those aren't pushups. I never said they were going to be perfect.

The most pushups I can do properly is 50 which I did first before realizing that I wouldn't make it to 117 so after shaking it off and making another attempt again. After that I proceeded to do 117 crunches and 50 floors on the stairmaster at level 20. I was wiped out at the end.

Thank you.

I have those two Samuel, I figured it'd help as well but it doesn't really.

I like doing decline and bent over push-ups as well for shoulders/bi's/tri's.

I'm not sure if I could even do 50 push-ups in a row; I'd probably completely burn myself out. I typically do stairs everyday. Usually stick between levels 13-15, for 25-30 minutes and climb around 160-200 floors.

They certainly weren't proper pushups, but there is something to be said for doing a fun "burn out" style workout.

I also have wrist problems from doing high rep pushups, I've taken to doing them off a pair of dumbells. In fact I'm gonna skip the gym today and see how many pushups I can do in a 5 minute window.

The answer is a pretty pathetic 81. 50 in the first 1.5 minute, after that it was just limping through the rest between stretching my pecs out as they cramped.

Good attempt, Steve. I don't think I could do any more for a couple days. My chest/shoulder/pecs are still sore from yesterday's attempt.

Every week we've had a "benchmark" challenge that we had to do. This week it's called the "Filthy Fifty" and it's this:

50 Box jump, 24 inch box
50 Jumping pull-ups
50 Kettlebell swings, 1 pood
Walking Lunge, 50 steps
50 Knees to elbows
50 Push press, 45 pounds
50 Back extensions
50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball
50 Burpees
50 Double unders

I'll try it on Friday...hope I survive. Ugh!

So that's what the big deal is...the Xfitters on FB were talking about that and I had no idea what that was all about.
