Holy. Shit. If this is what they're doing, suddenly everything makes sense.

So I'm starting Crossfit back up today, anyone recommend a diet to go alongside the training regime? Right now I'm focused on calorie and fat count. Any suggestions would be great

I don't do what is considered a kipping pull up but I do reach full dead hang position on each rep. I'll get someone to take a video next time.

The Kipping Pull-Up highlights the gymnastics influence in CF.

Yep, that's how they do 'em and thats why you see the high numbers. That's why I wish they'd list "50 kipping pullups" in their times. 50 dead hang pullups is beastly, 50 like that, still hard but doable.

Very true, cuz it's not the same. I don't understand why they'd want to develop a technique which is designed to help gymnasts jump onto the bars?

Kipping pullups is cheating imo, unless it says so. Not that I can do 50 dead hang pull ups

I wouldn't say it's cheating, it's just a different movement. I can rack pull 545, but I wouldn't go around saying my deadlift max was 545 because it's just similar but mechanically easier.

And BTW, here is someone that is stronger than just about everyone on the planet "cheating".

Now picture a guy that is quarter his size, doing double the amount, with a 45lb plate tied to his waist... and that's SoCal

LOL! I'd love to see a vid of anyone doing 110 kipping pullups with a 45 on.

I can only do 4, but I'm like a quarter Raiff's size and had 70 plus gripping ropes.

I don't know if I could even do 4 with a 45 on.

Like I said, I'm new to pull-ups. I'm still doing 4 sets of 10... though I'm trying to move up to 5 sets... more like 10x10x10x10x6x4 right now.
