I remember journalist sayed that they'll be a 3 series GT one day, though they were going to call it the 4 series, but this def not look like...
I think they're heading over a no issue path with this if it's like the A5,they can't kill the M3 name!

^^ Sad because it's true. I actually saw on WCF that BMW was changing their marketing strategies of focusing on driving enjoyment, because they want to be open to a broader range of customers who don't enjoy driving. Unofrtunaetly their cars are starting to reflect their marketing strategy.
Good idea. I'm sure the "M4" will go fast, but will be just as dull, fat, and boring like most current BMWs.
What happened down at BMW after the E46? The E46 M3 was a fantastic car in all aspects/ Then they totally threw away the classic design with the E92. Granted the E92 was still a fantastic car, it's life is now coming to a close, and the car that will replace it, so far looks like a major step in the wrong direction.

Anyways, I guess the new 1/2 series M models will be the "new M3" and the M3/4 will be more of a grand tourer. Shame they didn't make a 1M CSL Thread
