Is the 991 (with decent spec) overpriced?

I understand just what you're saying. I bet when the 550 Spyder is revived, knowing Porsche a coupe version will soon follow.

I don't understand this thread at all. Porsche 911 are not supposed to be an affordable car for everyone. I don't own a Ferrari but I never went on their forum and complain that Ferrari is expensive.
BTW when I purchased my new GT3RS about 2 years ago, I thought it was the best bargain performance car and I was very happy that I got an allocation to order.
Car buying experience is supposed to be happy. If you have to second guess your purchase because a BMW or Acura appears to be a better buy, then the Porsche is not for you.
Reading this thread is sort of like someone walking into a 5 stars hotel for a room, but he keeps complaining that for cheaper price, the 3 stars hotel down the road also includes free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, etc. Well, which room will you recommend the guy to stay in?

I only pointed out the Acura because they are an example of a manufacturer providing good value. Porsche is poor value, but most of us have overlooked it because we love the cars, the brand, etc. I think what some here are pointing out is that Porsche is going a little too far.
My father bought a 1965 356C from a dealer while he was still a young man. I know a lot of young officers and senior NCOs in the military that have stretched to buy a 911 because they were attainable. If Porsche continues down this road, they'll lose a core element of their desirability - ATTAINABILITY. When people can't afford them, they'll lose relevance.
Sorry for my rant, but don't paint with such a broad brush that we should all go "buy Acuras" or we should stay at a 3-star hotel since we can't appreciate a 5-star hotel. That's bullshit. It's legitimate to complain about Porsche unnecessarily hiking prices. My Carrera S in 2006 was decently optioned and $92K. You can't even get the base car for that price now, and one optioned like mine was will be $110K. That's what I'm talking about.

^Chris,
I'm also sorry for my rant. Please beware that my post is not directed at you, or any particular person. I'm just offering my opinion.
Porsche as a company sells cars. As far as I'm concerned, it can list its products at any price that it wants to. If a group of customers felt that the price is too high, then they don't need to buy from Porsche. Over the years, the only Porsche that I think was ridiculously priced was the 997.2 Speedster, yet there are still a group of customers that bought it.
Don't underestimate the buying power of others. There is a reason that a company priced its products a certain way. Companies that make money did their homework. They're not stupid.
BTW I think the 991 is reasonably priced. It is a 911, and it is priced like a 911.
