Haha oh man, BigE is on a roll! Chris, that's funny that the gas cap was the cause of the CEL. That's actually one of the most common problems. The general rule of thumb is to screw the cap on until you hear it click 3 times. Then you know it's tight.

In any case, glad to hear you made it back on the road. See you in a few days!

I'm in Glendale, would love to meet you guys, but it may be a bit tough to get away from the wife and baby. What are you guys planning?

CEL for a crossthreaded gas cap ... don't these engineers know by now we get a heart attack every time that damn light comes on?

Chris, I wish your wife were on TS to share the ribbing she gave you.

Glad all is well. Continued safe travels and keep the pics coming.

Ah, cmon give Chris a break. Honestly, how many of you would even remotely think to look at this as the reason. Nevertheless, pretty funny and I will always be double checking my cap from now on. Just look at it this way, you have helped educate all your fellow pcar owners. Congrats on being back on the road. Good stuff.

I know that'd be the very first thing I'd check. That's the most common cause of CELs on every car with OBDII/CAN.
