Yea, my moms Caddy popped a CEL light on three separate occasions and they were all for the "loose gas cap" reason. I guess this type of cell is pretty common, can be somewhat embarrassing for the user; but hey, it's the cheapest fix ever! I would take a loose gas cap over a blown head gasket any day!!

Just a little good natured ribbing among friends....nothing more

Seriously guys, and my wife will vouch for me, I am METICULOUS about putting the cap on and clicking 10-12 times. It was the first thing I checked was the gas cap, but apparently it takes a few cycles with it on properly to clear the CEL. Either way, I'm just glad it was nothing major - I was super pissed, just waiting to write PCNA a nasty-gram...

I just got back from dinner with a good friend and was amazed at how much Burbank has changed in the last 15 years or so since I lived here. We're on the road early tomorrow morning for Monterey. I'm hoping we get lots of good shots of exotics on our way up. If we have time, I might stop for some scenic shots along Route 1.

Thanks for all the humor - I needed it after stressing all weekend.

Chris, good to talk to you today... I hadn't realized you'd left for this awesome trip. Your itinerary is a virtual reverse replica of our last cross-country adventure. We drove out the North route (Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, etc.) and back the same way you've gone. God, I love long road trips!

Let me know when you're back to the humid side of the country, so we can grab some food and hang out. Have a safe time the rest of your trip, and say "hi" to the wifey...

Thanks Pure S2000-O, we look forward to seeing you again! We need to round up Pure S4-O and bring him along too... I do have a new man-cave to break in and FIFA 10 is coming.

I am hoping to load up a bunch of pics in tomorrow's post so stay tuned!

Oh I know I was just trying to give him a break as it was obviously freaking him out on his first ever road trip with the car.
