my panerai has been my "DD" for nearly 4 years straight now...no problems with it and many can tell you I have a pretty extreme lifestyle haha. But The Sub is an awesome watch that you wont lose nearly anything on if you buy it right...the deepsea seadweller is pretty awesome if you want something a little more chunky than the sub (read young haha). Its right in your bracket too.

As a 19 year old, I would not spend the money on a watch. Put it away. I don't know how well off your family is--but, you will probably neeed some extra money in college.

get this

But really bro, get what ever style suits your taste. As everyone in here has said, the Rolex is always a classic, and will never be out of style.

Cheers!

Do you only where the Pam? One of mine needed service after 3 years. Do you keep it on a Winder. If it's not worn daily I truly think it's harder on them.

I know...

Just still think he should be buying Condoms and not a 5k watch at 18.

5k could get me a lot of condoms! but you can't get your money back on condoms however with a watch you can get some money back when your done with it

Just tuning back into this thread.

I wasn't trying to beat you up or anything. As ndiran said, I was just trying to give you some solid advice as we have all been 18 at some point.

However, I think the sub is the right choice.

I would get a sub. I love mine (50th anniv edition).

I got it for college graduation (my mom, dad, and brother didn't finish undergrad) a couple years ago. For what it's worth, other than around my close friends - many who have way nicer things than I - I'm still uncomfortable wearing it at times.
