New Watch Ideas

Hey guys, I am 18 years old and I am looking for a new watch. My budget is anywhere from 5-10k and I already have a few in mind but wouldn't mind a couple more suggestions. I am looking for something I could wear everyday that isn't too flashy. Just a nice, subtle watch. I have looked at a couple already and my favorites are the Rolex Yachtmaster which is as flashy as I am willing to go. The others are the Pam 291 and the Pam 90. The Panerai's are the same watch just different sizes. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've posted this before just because I'd buy it and it fits way below your budget (you could save money!! Think about that) and other criteria.

Vintage BR 123 Carbon.
$2900

or

Heritage BR-03-94
$4500-5000

At 18 use the money for college. NO one you should know at that age gives a rats ars about you having an expensive watch on your wrist. Where a Nike like the rest of the 18 year olds and understand that it's not about what's on the outside. It's about what's on your inside.

H20 I would use the money for college but I have all my college paid for so this purchase would just be a little gift to myself for a recent accomplishment. I completely understand what you mean though about saving the money.

For someone your age, I would definitely go with a Rolex Submariner in classic SS/ black face. It is not too flashy, you can wear it anywhere, its durable, it will hold its value and it will never go out of style.

Who wears a $10k watch in Iowa? They'll pitch fork you in a jiffy

wasn't really my point. I've assumed college is paid for. As always do what ever you'd like with your money just understand what a 5k watch on your wrist says about you.
I'm a life lesson guy. Not a internet Cop. If I buy my son a Ferrari at 16 because I can I've taught him nothing and he comes across wrong to the world. He'll be lucky to drive one of our cars at 16. Age appropriate is my 2 cents.

If it is YOUR money that you're looking to spend on a watch... scrap that idea and just save the money.

If this is a gift from your parents, then that is a completely different story. As BigE said, I'd probably do the Submariner.

Agree 100%! Sub is time-less, but if you have the ability to "take" or save the cash do it. That is a GREAT Down-payment on a condo, and at your age you could pretty much supplement the mortgage with rent from buddies. Trust me, I wish i had made the same choice when i was 18, instead of blowing it trying to be "older" than I was.
