Pagani Huayra Top Gear (Spoiler Alert)

While I agree the P1 will probably be faster, they are not going to "wait on release" until they are faster on the top gear track. McLaren already knows what the P1 is all about.

If you can give us any hints..would be appreciated
. I personally dont expect it to that big..because the Pagani already took off a certain big chunk of the Mclaren Mp4-12..and I cant imagine Mclaren turning up and saying.."look, the MP4-12 is already 2 years old..its a crap car..and a lame duck..only the P1 is a real Mcalren because its 10 seconds faster"The P1 will not make a Mp4-12 look ridicoulous..otherwise its life span will be quite short from now on..
We will see..

I think we have to be careful here in comparing apples with apples. The Huayra's lap time is even more impressive when you consider that it was never designed to be a track weapon like the Zonda was. In reality it’s a very fast and very comfortable GT.
Now the P1 and the F150 are effectively going to be streetable race cars, less likely to be seen grand touring and more likely to be seen rolling out of the back of a transporter at a track day.
Will they be faster? Almost certainly, but that as quoted by McLaren this was one of the main objectives from the outset.
Another thing that I find interesting about this conversation is that the Koenigsegg has not been mentioned at all as a rival here. We all know its quick, but how quick will it be around the Top Gear track. Come on guys, welcome to Teamspeed by the way, get an Agera R off to Top Gear ASAP and make your mark. I think we would all love to see what you can do.
Oh and before all the usual suspects jump in to have a go I really am interested in seeing the Egg strut its stuff, potentially it could scare the likes of the P1 and the F150

1.17.8 sec Zonda
1.18.3 sec Veyron
So in conclusion I think its best not to make assumptions.
Just to add another element to this discussion we know the Venom GT is even faster in a straight line than the Agera R, but that car has also yet to prove how effective it is around a track
