Photography 101

I've been getting out and doing a lot more shooting lately (practice, practice, practice!). My favorite subject... the new ride. Anyway, just thought I'd share these here and certainly welcome any/all criticisms.
I'll add a couple short notes to each pic, for whatever it's worth.
The sunlight (mid-afternoon) was pretty harsh when I took this, but I actually kind of like the effect it gave. Not much post processing done other than a small adjustment in exposure and I slightly desaturated the whole image a bit in Lightroom.

I tried to get a really warm feeling from this one. Again, not much post processing done except adding a little exposure and a very small amount of saturation. I tried to frame the subject with the weeds, while lining the car up with the tracks to keep the whole image 'moving' in the same direction.
** edit: now that I'm looking at this one more, I really should have removed that yellow pole in PS -- it seems a bit distracting.

I'm really happy with the way this one came out. I was trying to get a unique composition/angle and wanted to really tie the pic together by having the red barn & taillights work together to stand out from the neutral color of the car. I added a little bit of exposure in Lightroom, while adding a soft light layer in PS to help with the contrast.

I tried to compose this with all of the lines (tracks, car, roofline) pointing in the same direction to keep it "flowing", while also framing the car with those same lines.

I just tried to capture a different angle on this one. No real explanation here, just something I thought was interesting. Although, I have to admit, I probably broke rule #1 of car photography in all of these -- the car was filthy!

^^^Mike, I agree, you should remove the yellow pole but I like the composition of that shot. I also like how you used the railroad track to "heighten" then tension of not being able to see the whole car. May I make a suggestion that you try getting even further back for that shot and perhaps put the car off to the side a bit. Sometimes it helps to show the "whole picture" yet at the same time highlighting your beautiful RS.
The last one is my favorite...LOVE the feel of that one.

First off, I realize I didn't post anything -- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the model shoot examples you posted. I love the way you played with lighting sources there.
I hear you about putting the car off to the side a bit. I always like that look, where the car is a bit over to one third or the other of the frame -- like you said, gives more of the whole picture or moment.
And what a difference a pole makes (or no pole, for that matter). Just took a moment to edit it out

PS -- I see we also had similar ideas for George's pic... yours was a bit more extreme than what I was thinking, but that's what I love about this stuff -- interpretation!

Thanks man... I really appreciate that! I've been shooting a LOT more lately and feel like I'm learning in the process.
