OK -- equipment question for you guys. I've been doing a lot of indoor shooting for work lately (meetings and events). Most of these take place in relatively large rooms here at our office (ceilings probably 15+ feet high). The lighting isn't very good in these rooms at all. It's just typical fluorescent lights with some natural light coming in through the windows.
With the higher ceilings, it's difficult to get a good bounce from my flash (Canon Speedlite 430EX), so I'm thinking that some sort of diffuser or bounce card might really help out. I just found this guy's site (ABetterBounceCard.com). I thought this looked like a nice alternative to some of the other 'standard' diffusers out there. Anyone ever used anything like this before. OR, can you recommend something?
For reference, here's a pic of the room I'm typically shooting in. These 'crowd' shots aren't so bad, because there's plenty of ambient light I can usually use. Where I'm running into challenges is when I need to get close-ups of the speakers at the podium and also for candids of people mingling during the breaks.

Hope you don't mind Kren, I did a few tweeks to the photo. Added some shadows, a little orange light, made pop up some details of the car like the difuser, and the right rear light, and cut out a tree.

^^ I don't mind at all. I like what you've done.
One thing with adding the light I've found is that, Suzuka Grey is such a tough color to showcase in photographs. So many people confuse it with white... And, with the light that you added in the rear, it makes it look even more white But I do like how you've brought out the details.
I had also played with the idea of lightening up that diffuser area myself in the photo -- but truthfully, I almost prefer to leave it a little bit darker. When it gets brightened, I think it tends to look plastic-like. Although, admittedly that's a bit of a gripe I have with the car in real life. I'm thinking about getting a carbon fiber replacement diffuser sometime in the future. IMO it's MUCH better looking.
Please, always feel free to have fun/experiment with my photos. I love the learning/sharing going on in this thread!

I used to do a lot in my garden, but mostly kids and the dogs, their sporting events, etc.
I have a couple really nice cameras. I just need to sit down with them and take the time to practice and learn some basics. I'm kind of ADD so it's tough for me to concentrate sometimes.
