Thanks. I was trying to differentiate between the fact that the low ones don't bother my shins, before meesta crossfit benjiMOARS could rip on me for being a pansy and only jumping 10"!

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
I wasn't ripping on you either haha. When I box jump anything over 24," I use a separate box to step down after every jump. I have knees and a back that were slammed a lot from carrying a 100#+ ruck and fast-roping and rappelling out of helicopters, so unless I have no other option, the extra box helps a TON.

Yep thats pretty much the standard for me now. 42 is max. Still got a ways to go to catch you.

I figured that was your standard, you freaking BEAST!! My max was 56" (I think, maybe 54") when I left Iraq in September. Who says white men can't jump? WTF am I saying anyway; I'm black from the waist down.

That's a good idea. I actually haven't tried to max out height for a regular old box jump. I suppose I should. As I mentioned I actually clear or jump over the 34-36" box. The highest I have gone stopping on top is a 24" with a bosu ball on top of it (flat side down of course) and a 40lb weight vest 4x12 (I weigh 205).

your problems are very likely linked to your muscles,tendons etc being new to the extra stress of working out and they have to adapt to that first...they are overstressed for the moment and you should back down a bit and give them time to adapt..

I've been working out for the last couple years, specifically for the last 6 mos. doing Interval training. I just don't run because when I did boot camp I got the shin pain, pushed through until I just couldn't. Then I rested for 8 weeks and started up light, they came right back. With Insanity, it's just something I'll have to work around I guess. I will always have a weakness there.

I'm trying to be conscious and bend/squat down when I land, but after 7 or 8 of those suckers I ain't floatin like a butterfly that's for sure!

What kind of shoes are training in? Something like Vibrams, Frees, or Air Max, ReZig etc..?
