I use a forward grip up to 405, then use an alternate grip for anything heavier. Truth be told, I prefer to just do a TON of reps with 225-315. I feel like I get a lot more of of DL days when I do that.

What do you consider a ton of reps at 225-315??

I've only been doing DLs again for a short time. All I know is that I was DRIPPING while doing them; my heart rate is insane, even while I was doing the last few reps at 335.

I warm up, and then do 4 sets of 25-30 reps with 225, and then 2-3 sets of 10-15 with 315. The last set or two is to absolute failure where I drop the bar because A- I'm completely exhausted and B- my grip is shot.

It takes time, my old gym partner would straight leg dead lift 500lbs and weighed 30lbs more than me. Keep it up, you will get there.

Sounds like you need chalk, not straps.

Swimming for me today, but it sucked cause my goggles broke. Running into lanes, pissing off old guys. Only did 15 minutes, still a great workout.

Since we're posting meals....

that`s exactly the gym Jay Cutler works out at (or did in the past)
A lot of videos and shootings were done there as well.
Great gym!

wow...after 4 sets of so many reps on DLs I would not be able to walk properly because of the pump
I`m like a impaired person after "normal" sets of DLs already

I devote entire workouts to DL's and box jumps. I take at least a 2 minute break between sets to let my muscles and HR chill a little. I just focus on intensity and form and the pain after the 4th set.
