Stewart W is an unknown quantity at this point
I had a nad experience with another MB car ( ML)I gav them3 attempts to repair all and it was not done. Completed paperwork ( myself - in lemon law book) and things started to change..You must start the process by turning in the claim to the state and MBUSA as per form .This escalates everything.Long and short, they got it fixed after the 3 attempt limit ( 4th attempt) I was able to lemon car but gave them a choice..I felt if they were certain the car was fixed, they should not mind extending my warranty to give me piece of mind.I got 6 years 75K miles for free...
No lawyer was necessary. However, once you file the form, lawyers will be seeking you out.Give them 3 chances asap..or if total days in shop are 21 or more..you can file the claim..
Good luck...I think MB will get it right but if not you do have lemon law to protect you.

I had a similar situation with BMW. Wife had a 330cic that was just bad. Top failure, oil leak and worse it would stall. It was one of the first SMG's and apparently the transmission was different than the one in the M3. Driven slowly from a stop the SMG would pull so much power the car would just stall. Sent the ECU to the BMW's facility in New Jersey three times. Never fixed it.

Bear in mind I have worked for a BMW dealer for fifteen years. One I got my attorney involved they "cancelled" the lease and took the car back. After all was said and done I got a letter from BMW Financial stating we were 90 days overdue on our payment and they were going to reposess the car unless paid in full. Calling the Finance group I was told that it was showing on my credit report and they had no knowledge of the lease being cancelled and were going to continue to continue with the matter until I could prove otherwise.

I faxed them the letter showing the vehicle had been returned and the contract was cancelled. They finally relented but would not remove it from my credit report which I had to fix myself.

To add insult to injury she ended up in a M3 Cab.

Just got a call from the dealer saying my car is ready for pick up. Told them I am not picking it up until I hear from AMG or MB. She told me that she contacted her Representative who said nothing is wrong with the car now.

I made a complaint with MB USA on Wednesday November 30th at 6 pm. Was told I'll hear from someone within 24 hours. Still haven't heard from anyone.

They are really adding insult to injury!!!

Also they said they couldn't get the smoking to reproduce, which means nothing is wrong with it. I SHOWED THEM A PICTURE OF THE DAMN CAR SMOKING!!!!!!!

I think I am going to go pick it up, start a pool on how soon its next trip to the dealership is!!!?!?!

Any takers?

Angry

I just picked up my pre owned SLS with 4k last friday and its on its first service trip due to headlight condensation. The amg specialist, bill parks, told me that its normal if the condensation goes away after 10 min of turning the headlights on but I felt that this is BS way of MB so that they dont want to have to fix the car. The condensation happened as Bisan have mentioned. Usually the condensation occurred after long period of driving and u will be able to notice is when u park the car. I drove for 45 minutes yesterday and once I got home I still manage to see the condensation. This happened at night so I am very confident that the headlights have been turned on by the auto switch for more than 10 min and it is still there.
Any suggestions anyone? I will post once again tomorrow once MB advisor contacted me. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
This is at MB beverly hills btw so I don't know where else to go next if they don't want to do the repair?

The AMG specialist said the same thing to me, that the headlight condensation is normal as long as they disappear after turning the headlights on for 10 min. I said to him this is total BS and they said they'll look into it and contact MBUSA to wait for their response, tomorrow at the latest. I sure hope they r able to do something about it or I'll raise hell. I will post again once I heard something from MB. I hope ur car will be fixed by the time u picked it up!

Im quite surprised how MB overlooked a simple problem such as condensation on the headlights, looking at the insane budget and time that goes into development and testing of these vehicles.
