I am in absolute love with the Breitling Navitimer.

steel case / blue face / brown or gold leather strap, 41.8MM

http://www.breitling.com/en/index.ph...mer/navitimer/

something very similar to this

Well I don't kniw yet since I've not completed my licence. But I think it'll be a kawa er-6n or a shiver (agreed it's a sharp bike)or maybe a dorsoduro. For my first bike I don't want to go too big (and too expensive too)

Look at the SV650 as well. That bike is magic for a 1st. Super linear power delivery, it'll never bite you. Easy to mod as well. Its even a blast for experienced riders as you can actually use all the power and not get your license revoked. One of the most fun bikes I've had, despite years of riding faster bikes prior.

I got one brand new (last year model at the time) for 5.5k as a commuter and put 11k miles on it in one year, so plenty of seat time. I can't recommend it enough.

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
The R1 is very nice too. Super fast and powerful, but it WILL bite you if you aren't experienced... The SV650 is a perfect 1st bike, IMHO. I can do nothing but agree with Big Slacker on this one.

I've heard by several Breitling doesn't run so well. I'd be afraid of them myself.

what do you know about watches?

LOL
i keed i keed

Thanks for the heads up!

The design is interesting, but after being out of the watch game (sold them last year - getting the itch again) im not sure it's the one i want to be my gateway watch.

Right now, my top limit for a new acquisition is $10K. Just eyeballing the field, I'm considering the Rolex ceramic green sub.

(in Londoner accent) myes i quite believe that would be splendid, just not sure any of their current offerings match the color scheme of my yacht mmhaa

(back to my normal Eurotrash accent) this, on the other hand, matches my current interest in cabbage
