go to Sushi Yasuda for lunch (make a reservation, ask to be seated at the bar.) it's $150. it will contrast nicely to your Sushi Kaji experience; you will see how good rice can be (fish is about the same quality.)

Team Speed Gathering
Uerukamu - 7/3/08

Clam Cocktail - Authentic Mexican preparation, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice, jalapenos.



Halibut Prep



Hirame Carpaccio - Thinly sliced halibut, green onions, soy vinaigrette.



Shrimp Duo with Vegetables - Tuna stuffed shrimp with carrot based puree, deep fried minced shrimp balls with spicy cream sauce, pan fried shishito, nasu miso (eggplant with miso).



Rice Noodle Salad - Rice noodles, cucumbers, dashi marinade.



Aji - Spanish mackerel served with fresh grated wasabi.



Carne Asada Taco - A special dish from the guys in back served with homemade guacamole.



Tabara Kani Tataki - Fresh king crab, lightly torched, avocado, miso/mustard sauce.



Hotate Plate - Live scallop sashimi, saute'd scallop liver, scalloped mushrooms.



Kurodai - Black snapper, shiso, yuzukosho.

Katsuo Tataki - Seared bonito, fried onions, green onions, ponzu.



Gyuniku - USDA prime filet mignon, garlic jus, five grain rice, sato imo (japanese country potato).



Uni Chawanmushi - Japanese savory custard with sea urchin roe.



Hotate Himo - The gasket part of the scallop, lightly charred with smelt roe.



Chutoro - Medium fatty tuna.



Yellowtail Prep



Hamachi Hara - The belly flap of the yellowtail.



Ume Asari Soba - Buckwheat noodles, steamed clams, salted plum sauce.



Dessert - Assorted fruits, creme anglais, sweet red beans, cappuccino mochi ice cream.

Sushi USA - 7/9/08

Salmon Skin Amuse - Cold salmon skin with cucumbers and thinly sliced onion, rice wine vinegar, sesame seeds.



Tako Yaki - Octopus (and onion) fritters served with tonkatsu sauce and Japanese mayo.



Buta no Nikomi - Braised pork cheeks in sweet soy marinade.



Ama Ebi - Sweet shrimp, tails served raw, heads deep fried.

Kabuki - 7/10/08
Just a couple of new things.

Yaki Somen with Salmon Cakes - Stir fried angel hair with ground salmon patties.



Negi Toro Maki - Minced toro and green onions. This particular roll also had shiso in it.
