I've never been that full from eating Sushi, the food was great.

Thanks again for setting it up Mark, and I hope your arm is feeling better.

Exclamation Sushi Yuzu... be careful or you will be forking out $$$$

"My $20 lunch ended up being $40 when the bill came.

I work near Yuzu and 4 of us decided to check it out. We looked over the menu and asked some questions of the waiter. I wanted sashimi (without the rice) for Salmon and Tuna. I asked how I would order that off the write in sheet. I was told to just draw a line off the 2 piece sushi for each and write Sashimi. That's what I did.

When the food came, I didn't think much about there being more than 2 pieces of Sashimi on the plate, but there were about 4. I should have questioned it then, but didn't. I had ordered a few other things as well.

When the bill came they had written out the bill to lump all of the sushi (for all of us) together. Drinks and soup were separate. I was going to put in my assumed $20, but seeing that that was going to leave us coming up REALLY short on the bill... I knew something was up. I asked our waiter if the price for what I had ordered was different than what was on the sheet. He didn't know.. so he asked management. He came back with a price that was well above double the price listed beside what I ordered.

I told the waiter that that was very misleading and unfair. It should have been explained. He admitted that it was his fault, but said several times... "Thank you for paying." He also added... "If you go to other sushi restaurants it is done the same way." The thing is, I DO go to a lot of Sushi restaurants and that's not how it's done.

The salmon was good and the oyster appetizer was good, but the tuna was flavorless. Not a big deal if it were the $5 sashimi that I ordered, but it wasn't. It was $13.

The staff did nothing to compromise on the bill and I will not be back. You would think that a brand new restaurant would be a little more concerned about keeping the local customers coming back. They weren't and they lost 4 potential regulars today."

caskey, sorry to hear about your experience. the arguement is somewhat rhetorical. i can understand your point of view, but i can also say that many sushi restaurants tabulate the bill in the same manner.

i'm a little surprised that since you admit to eating at other sushi places, that you did not know that an order of sashimi would be more in quantity and price. i don't know of any place that will serve a 2 piece sashimi plate unless you specifically ask for that.

in any case, it's an unfortunate situation. i think that place is very good and wouldn't recommend it otherwise.

I've never ever had just two pieces when ordering sashimi.

The fiance and I went back to Yuzu after the dinner Mr. Kram setup. She is very critical of sushi joints, as we frequent Sushi USA twice a week. She was very impressed with the quality and service of Sushi Yuzu and has already asked to go back.
