I really enjoy Abe & Louie's. The best part is the demi-glaze dripped over my filet everytime!

I often eat at steakhouses and I feel Abe's is top notch. I can honestly say their steak is usually better than any other steakhouse that I frequent; (Ruth's Chris, The Palm, Morton's, Capital Grill, Peter Luger's, Fleming's, Smith & Wollensky etc.)

Im not sure about the Morton's where you guys live, but the two in LA are terrible. It does not even deserve to be mentioned in the same thread as Mastros.

+1 The one here in SF is mediocre also. Ruth Chris SF is decent, not stellar, as well.

I very much prefer Mastro's in LA, and go to Harris' or Boboquivari's for steak in SF.

I'm a fan of The Grill on the alley in DT San Jose. Any one else eat there?

Most mentioned above kick ass. Lot of options in SF, mostly chains tho... for the real deal, try the 6-week dry-aged goodness at Bobo's. Weird location, has cool valet, high-end self-park out front. Has a classic old school '70 Vegas ambience, and one of the best starting points for boys night out...

NYC carnivore checking in.

Strip house = best overall IMO. Much better sides/service ambiance than Luger's. They don't treat me like shit... Also, the steak is more consistent and on par with Luger's.

Luger's = Still the King as far as steak is concerned. They hold a special place in my heart despite no CC and usually just OK service.

Quality Meats = Excellent Rib steak!!! Fabulous dessert and great service. Also, nice ambiance!

I recommend you guys try them all...but if it has to be one..it has to be Luger's. Even just to say you did it.

Definitely Peter Luger in NYC rates #1....
It is definitely worth it!!
To bad you need to book weeks..... sometimes months in advance JUST to get a table......

The Palm works very well too.....
