Went to STK last night. Steak wasn't too bad but the place is dope. I've been to Tenjune a few times but never STK----lots of eye candy.

 

My house...go to Schwabs in Stanford Mall, Palo Alto and get 2 Prime NY Steaks at $35 a pound then go to Whole foods for organic bake potatoes and Brocolli. Grill them on my DCS BBQ for about 10 minutes on high (which is around 1500 degrees) and a bottle of Joseph Phelps Cab and you have a meal for 2 for less than $125 without the having to tip. Easiest meal to make it 30 minutes.

 

In Portland, El Gaucho is known for being up there, Jake's is good as well.

Fogo is really good! It's usually not the best meat in town but the shear quantity makes it worth the price of admission.

 

STK is more show than go. They make some damn good margaritas though!

So is Mastro's still the best in LA? There have been some really iffy reivews lately on the interwebz.

Or would I have better luck at STK?

STK in Los Angeles isnt the best steak i have had but its not too bad. i would rather go there for drinks then dinner.

 

i have a Morton's within walking distance from my house,so they get my vote..

 

Gotta say, I took a prospect out to Mastro's Ocean Club in Newport Coast and everyone agreed that we had the best steaks ever. I was very impressed. I go to the Ocean Club a fair amount but they really delivered that day.
