Have to agree. I tried the Midtown (NY) location and I will never go back - to any of them.

Other than the Nashville Morton's Ive probably eaten at that one the most. Its very very very good as far as Morton's. And I agree that both of the ones in LA (Downtown and BH) were not that great. My favorite Morton's experience was at the Inner Harbor Morton's in Baltimore. We walked in 5 minutes before close to an empty restaurant minus a couple in the bar... the staff and cooks didn't bat an eye and stayed well after midnight on a weeknight for us...

Has ANYONE had either of the Two Prime Ribs? DC or Bmore? FYI its the restaurant Deangleo Barksdale eats with his GF in the first season of the Wire.

Don't get me started on Morton's. IMO, one of the worst, but that's another topic. Best prime rib has to be Kimo's in Hawaii and Mastros for everything else. I had a great experience at BOA and the Palm as well..

My vote is for Mastro's. I've never once been disappointed by the food, service, or atmosphere. Not sure how the other locations are setup, but the one on Cannon Dr. in Beverly Hills has the old guy that simultaneously plays the piano, sings, and plays trumpet and other brass instruments upstairs. Can't beat it!

STK opened here in LA, officially ope to the public as of today. I've been a few times the last couple of weeks and would say the steak is on par if not better than Mastros. Check it out.

I really cannot compare both steak houses that I usually go to, but the Gaucho grill (English/franchise) has to be one of the best steak's I have ever come across to. Their rump steak is one of the leanest and most tender meats I have enjoyed and I like to order it in medium rare with a mixed salad as en tree and grill beans following with French mustard to complete the dish.

The other restaurant that I like is the Terrace Grill which is over at the JW Marriott Kuwait, that place is on par with the Gaucho grill but its closer to my home and has live music everyday. The Terrace grill is slightly more expensive because its frequent customers are business owners who come with their partners and delegates to dine.
