How Kanye West solved the music industry's problem singlehandedly

At least 2pac has a guitar riff rolling behind him. Kanye's stuff has a $100 keyboard turned on to hiphop #8
I've said it a ton. I like all kinds of music. Kanye doesn't do it for me. There is hiphop I won't change from my car or kids ipod. That song from 2pac is good I'd keep that one rolling in the truck.
I still don't believe he writes his own music. I'm going to check Wikileaks....If anyone knows that cat does. I'll get back to you.

Musical Hip-Hop is different from Lyrical Hip-Hop.
And by being an artist in the music industry you are not by necessity a musician.
Thereby coming to the conclusion that Kanye has the capacity to write moving lyrics, by the same vein his is also not necessarily a moving musician.

Two different things yet not mutually exclusive. And I would say that Kanye is more of a musician than a lyricist. Someone like Nas or Eminem I would say is more of a lyricist than a musician. But Kanye still has put out tracks with moving lyrics. Though it's not his forte I would say. The best way to put it is that Kanye is an amazing arranger. That seems to be where his strengths lie.

Not until you admit you only listen to Vanilla Ice alone in a closet with a 4 pack of wine coolers
I am sure we like 95% of the same music we just can't meet up for a kanye "arrangment"

Seriously nothing against Kanye...
The point I was trying to make was Kanye is definitely MORE lyrical.
He is definitely LESS musical.
Yes he releases music CD's. Having said that...
Still No...
without the lyrics anything on the disc would be hard pressed to be considered music.
Example/Given
Ludovico Einaudi- Primavera
Musical.
It conveys a soul, a feeling. It doesn't have to be a specific feeling or emotion. It has melody. It has Rhythm.
It doesn't have lyrics, so it does not have Rhyme. So Kanye beats it there.
The bottom line is still the same. When I listen to music it is not for what its saying.

This.
Not surprisingly, there is also a generational conflict, as people tend to prefer the music they grew up with.
I could just say most of the so called "music" produced in the last century pales in comparison to the talent, creativity, and skill involved in the real classics of instrumental Western music, which resides in the Classical/Romantic era with predominantly stringed instruments...But I doubt there are many people nowadays who regularly listen to and appreciate classical music.
