M4 Super 90 Entry... so awesome. It has an adjustable choke too. That way you can put a full or extra-full choke in it and keep very tight patterns with a super-short barrel. A friend in Arizona built one with a ported, choked 10" barrel. Sick.

Chris, I think the M4 and UMP45 might be a tad above the $300 budget.

quickZohsix, like others I recommend the Mossberg 590 for your needs.
