Spend a little extra and pickup a Glock. Never had one complaint from the 100 or so I have sold. Shotgun is nice but with the pistol you can go to the range and get proficient.

+1 on the Mossi or Remington. I have a 870 Mariner for house and boat. Loaded up with Federal Home defense rounds. Took my wifey to the sporting clay range and shot clay birds with it ... she whooped my a$$ ...

she is good to go ....

Thanks for the input guys, Ill be home from work in a couple weeks and will start shopping. unfortunatly I have a neighbor vandalizing cars and am going to buy security cameras next.

So between putting up cameras, buying some weapons and having 2 german shepards at the house, I feel pretty good about security
