My LWRC is wearing the Trijicon TR24G. I love it and it's less $$ than your other options.

Some nice rigs listed, I use the 4x32 ACOG (TA01NSN-DOC)with Doctor Optic on my 223. The acog is calibrated for the 223 drop and the Doc optics are great for cqb.

Go with the ACOG. They also make 3.5 power ones. You mentioned varminting - you'll need magnification, and the BDC in the ACOG will make life much easier. They're calibrated for a man's shoulder width for each bracket, so you'll have to sort that out, but once your there laterally, your hold should be good.

I only like red dots/holographics on 0-100m guns. Anything I might take out to 200m or so gets magnified glass.
