Optics/sights On Lwrci Ar M6a2 For A Noob

OPTICS/SIGHTS ON M6A2 FOR A NOOB
Purchased my first AR, a M6A2, 16", 5.56. It will be used for target, varmint, and plinking. I have digested the cost and now I am looking for a good optic/sight. Tracking this site, I see many options and opinions regarding optics. I see many members purchase one sight/optic and then upgrade or change later on. I am trying to buy the best one first to hopefully save the additional cost of upgrading. I am asking for your recommendation and input as a guide for me to make the investment. After study, review and comments from this board, listed below are my candidates: They are not in any priority.

A: Aimpoint Micro T-1 4 MO NVC Red Dot Sight w/ Aimpoint 3x Mag Magnifying Module. $1,130
B: Aimpoint CompM4S Red Dot Sight w/ Aimpoint 3x Mag Magnifying Module. $1,250
C: Trijicon TA31F-RMR: 4x32 ACOG®—Dual-Illuminated Red Chevron Scope with RM01: Trijicon RMR™ Sight (LED) — 4.0 MOA Red Dot. $1,730
D: EOTech 557.223 Holographic Weapon Sight W/ EOTech 4x Magnifier w/ Flip To Side Mount $1,300

T1 w/ LaRue mount...lighter, robust, 8+ years of battery life and damn thing just works. I'd avoid the EOTechs unless you want to spend a lot of time talking to customer service. This will be my next purchase as soon as I retire my other Aimpoint...

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
Get the Trijicon bro. I am a huge Eotech fan, but I really love the ACOG. Might as well put up the $$ and get something once, like you say.

Only problem with ACOGs is that you have the magnification that will really screw with you unless you want to constantly shoot out 100+ yards. Of course you could get a mini-reflex sight with the ACOG - now that would be sweet and LaRue actually sells a setup like that.

Btw, I can't stress that you want a high quality mount (i.e. LaRue) for your glass.

ETA - Of course, arguing about glass is about as useful as arguing which porn star is the best...it's all relative to what tickles your fancy.

^Agreed. The mount is pretty key. He just said target, varmint, and plinking, so I figured the ACOG would work.

I have both the ACOG and the EOTech with magnifier and flip away. I'm partial to the EOTech setup, just 'cause the flip away makes it so easy.

I agree completely I have had about every optic out and my current "go to" is the T-1 and a Aimpoint 3x copy I had the ACOG ECOS and it was a P.I.T.A. to use since almost all my shooting is 100yds or less. I have tried the new Leupy 1-4 or the Millet which is a super great SPR type optic but since most of my shooting is 100yds or less the T-1 with a Larue Highmount and Aimpoint 3x copy does the trick I can hit pop cans out to 150 with the 3x and for CQB type shooting the T-1 is tops plus it works with my PVS-14's
