Frankly, one of the main reasons is that 308 is easier to reload.

OK - So now that BHO is in charge, I am DEFINITELY buying a rifle (or two) ASAP. The problem is that I only get stuff via govt channels, so I don't know where to buy this stuff in the civvie world.
I've decided on an LWRC M6A2 as my first choice, POF 415 carbine second, M1A SOCOM 1 third. Any suggestions on a shop I can call to order it? I live in VA, so any VA dealer is the best option. Believe it or not, just looking on the internet is not as easy as it sounds. Tons of mom and pop shops, but to find a good high-end shop is tough.

Chris, why do you prefer the LWRC to the POF?

Josh, it really is going to depend on availability. LWRC, POF, LMT - all of them are equal quality in my book. I just need to put my mitts on one...
That video with the M6A2 w/EO-Tech and suppressor will be VERY similar to what I'm hoping to do. Unless I'm in Afghanistan, I would rather have an EO-Tech than an ACOG. Of course it'd be better to have both on zero-hold mounts.
