First test drive - Rebellion R1k [VIDEO]

With good lifters, push rods, valves, springs, shaft mounted rockers, springs, heads, you will not have to worry about valve lash. I would use victory valves, PSI springs, Jesel lifters and shaft mount rockers.

1. 427 TT. I totally see what you are saying on the race gas. Does it at all matter if I drive mostly in Europe and the octane I would run is mostly 100? I am not to worried about having two tanks with different fuels in them, sure its a hazzle but with enough planning its totally doable, and worth the bragging rights... ;-) (If I understood it correctly that I can run low boost and just keep refueling the pump gas tank?) What is the difference in the ones that produces 2000+ hp. Will they be less reliable or whats the downside of going even more stupid? ;-)
2. SBC. I have had a look at the AS engines and I was actually wondering why they can take 800hp out of a SBC and the option NE gave me was "only" at 650hp. Seems like NE are amazing at what they do, so how come it seems like AS is a better option when it comes to naturally aspired engines? Any thoughts on that one?
3. SBC vs BBC I know that the SBC are smaller and lighter, but if I do decide to go for the 500ci BBC to get the extra hp, whats the downside of going all out and going for the 705 BBC - Fuel Injected with 925 HP with 900 TQ with pump gas? How are they sound wise? will the 705 be much heavier then the 500?

Hopefully I'm not too late to chime in. As far as bespoke engines go, one of the most impressive new engines I've seen is the Flat-Crank V8 (will sound very exotic) in the new RUF R-GT8. Designed to withstand the punishment of an insurance race (reliable) as well as being well behaved on street conditions. It comes with a full dry-sump. If you want more insane, just rework the compression ratio and throw some low friction twin turbos on it and you will easily be north of 1K horses.
Just a thought.

As a reference point, historic Can Am cars using NA aluminum-block BBC motors (800 to 900 hp/750 to 800 tq) weigh around 1,500 to 1,700 lbs and EASILY spin 18" wide rear slicks (both of them) due to the massive slug of torque at low rpms. IMHO, stuffing a beast like that in a flyweight like this project would render it nearly useless at anything below 100 mph.
Another consideration might be the Supercharged V-8 from RS Performance used in the Caterham Levante.
550hp and weighs almost nothing. Impressive bit of kit.
Check out their website RS Performance

Thanks so much for all the input! So many great alternatives!
Here is another thought I ran across, one that I kind of really like! A 5.8 stroker kit for the BMW v10

^^
The only thing about the BMW V10 that has bothered me has been the dull sound. Judging by those videos it seems like Dinan has that covered. Holy shit that tunnel sound is almost like an F1 car. I say knock yourself out Jon!
Btw nice orange GT-R you were driving around in earlier. Caught a glimpse of it a couple of hours ago here in Stockholm.
