It's interesting isn't it.
The fans and media must want more than highly capable competitors and prize winners. Otherwise, they'd criticize competitors who exhibit sportsmanship, empathy and respect for being too soft. We don't want killers, we want humans that can turn on killer instinct during competition, and turn it off as soon as it's over. That's where it gets complex, that's where we show our humanity.

By the way, Jones CAN learn to complete the package. He can learn sportsmanship, empathy, class over time. If and when he does, he'll be the most successful champ ever in terms of fan appeal nearly across the board.

The MMA Hour With Carlos Condit, Frank Mir, Ian McCall, Tom Lawlor, Gareth A. Davies
Greg Jackson called in to comment on his coaching of Jones to check on Machida after the fight. Greg's an ace. Doesn't really change a lot of the criticism Jon will continue to receive, but Greg's got great perspective nonetheless.

So who ya got?...Lesnar or Overeem?
I'm going to say Overeem's going to catch Brock and TKO him. The combination of health issues with lack of consistent training and a questionable head when faced by good strikers add up to potential bad news for the Brock-man. However, Alistair's Mom is very ill AND he's got a licensing review this afternoon....so, who knows where his head is at, and how the review will go.
