Reports in the Brazilian media on Friday are stating that Lucas di Grassi has signed a Virgin Racing contract to drive alongside Germany's Timo Glock for the team's debut season next year. The outfit formerly known as Manor GP will be making its first official team presentation in London next Tuesday.
With Glock already confirmed as moving to Virgin from the departed Toyota team, his team-mate could be revealed on Tuesday as Virgin makes its first official media appearance in Notting Hill.
According to Brazilian news reports, former Renault test driver di Grassi may have confirmed a deal with the Sheffield team last Monday, which would make him the fourth Brazilian driver in the field alongside Ferrari's Felipe Massa, Williams' Rubens Barrichello and debutant Bruno Senna at Campos.
The di Grassi possibility has been fuelled further by the apparent failure to gain a Virgin drive from compatriot Antonio Pizzonia, who posted the following message on his Twitter account: 'Today I was informed by the Manor team that I will not be a driver for the 2010 season.'
