Kubica to drive in French rally

Formula One news: Kubica to drive in French rally - GPUpdate.net Formula One

Robert Kubica will drive his first rally in France later this month as he prepares to race with the Renault team from 2010 onwards. The Pole's move from the departing BMW signals the first time he will have raced in Formula One for anybody other than the Hinwil team although his first public outing with Renault will be in the Rallye du Var on November's final weekend.

With Kubica the first driver signed to drive at Renault for next year, the Kraków man will be seen on the Cōte d'Azur in a Clio R3 between Thursday 26 and Sunday 29 November, providing the appearance is given the final go-ahead.

"It's not 100 percent sure but the chances are serious," Robert told France's Auto Hebdo in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. "It's purely for fun, I'm looking for fun times. I asked to see some videos, just to get an idea, but I'm also doing my research on the internet.

"That said, I already know a few roads in the region so can measure the difficulty of the task from that - it will be nice but hard!"
