What do you guys think of a E46 M3 Turbo?

Think that having your garage, you could easily get used to any car you buy, many people even lose the illusion so quickly and if you're a car fan, there is no better way to have fun than start a project like you said.
Everytime I see a M3 E46 think that is one of the most beautiful cars ever produced, a very balanced car and a great community that supports it, the project can cost the same as an M3 E92 ... but I'm sure it will be worth it and you'll like it a lot more than a new bone stock car.
Hope it helps, best regards. Alex.
pd. sorry for my english..

Honestly, the HPF kit may be worth it. My friend has one and it's been great, he's only had one problem (not really related to the kit) and HPF completely took care of him. It's amazingly drivable and the fit and finish is great.
If you're talking about turboing a CSL, it might not be worth the cost. Personally, I'd rather CSL up a regular M3 with a turbo and save the difference.
The stage 3 HPF is 1000hp+ I believe but that requires race gas for the full power. Also check out the Stage 2+ kit as it's tuned more for street and makes more power on street fuel than Stage 2 or 3.
If you talk to Chris at HPF I'm sure he'll be able to help you out.

lol mike are you board with the standard csl's performance already?
I really dont know which route is the best to go, there are pro's and cons to both options.
The HPF kit is probably the best kit out there (comes with a custom meth kit and everything needed) although the downside is obviously the price which with our exchange rate and customs/duty will be astronomical.
I have heard of the savspeed kit and seen a few local cars in magazines etc. Although it is a good kit i doubt it will be able to reach your goal of 700whp however you will have local support and the cost will be no where near the HPF kit.
Definitely a hard decision you have to make, but at the end of the day if it sounds and goes anything like this, im sure you will be happy :-)

The Turbo E46 M is a great platform for a roll on car. They can handle 600whp on stock internals. The main issue is traction as you can't get enough tire in there. I don't think that anybody has run one in the 10's yet, but they definatley have the hp for 125-130 traps.
