Passed few weeks I started changing things up a bit. Different paces on different days with changing tempo but always doing negative splits

4.6 this morning, faster pace, I'd like to think this is a good start to the week.

7 very slow miles today. Trying to stay within my fat loss zone. It's good to change it up every so often

I'm not worthy to post in this thread as I am just starting out after years off..and a 'minor' open heart surgery in October last year...

I mistakingly believed that since I walk so much in NYC, I didn't need to really worry about aeobics...that's so stupid it's hard to even read now...lol..

But I am starting week three in the gym and trying to ignore all the young hotties running like rabbits...at a 9mph clip...lol...

I'm at a fast walk mixed in with 3 two minute runs for a total of 30 minutes plus time for warm up and cool down. I do three sets of pushups and stretching..

In another week or two I start light weights and off we go..

Once I've accepted that this is the only way, other than being outside to train, it's a little easier, especially as I hate heat.

I posted in another thread that someone I manage to get a free gym membership..which is so absurd in NYC, it sounds like BS.

Short story is it's half off if you live in the building but I have an angel who hooked me up and never even told me.

i took that as a message from God...saying "OK you cheap asshole...This is your LAST chance..IU put a gym in your building and gave you a free membership...I'm done here...don't bitch to me later if you don't take it!"

LOL, God, I got it! I promise!

Controlit,
I recommend getting a couch to 5k app. You will be running in no time

what's that? I assume that was a Freudian slip and did you have to rub it in?

Not really. There are apps that take non runners and provide a plan where they start you off slowly and build upon your last efforts. Look them up. My wife hasn't exercised since high school and she is using one of those apps. She's now running a few miles

Haha, thought maybe you meant to write coach" not couch but makes more sense now.

Tomorrow will 4th time this week, thats my max right now. Most of the challenge is to accept limitations and NOT push yet as its more important that i dont get hurt or so exhausted that i cant keep the 4x a week schedule.

Making it that much harder are meds for my heart i have to adjust to, they lower heart rate and make it that much harder but they tell me i'll get more energy eventually.

Patience doesnt come naturally fir me. : (
