I'm getting back into all this running as well.
Here's a link to a beginner's training program for anyone who is interested. Running 101 from Runner's World.com
The website has plenty of nice articles/reviews on products, training, etc..

I strongly urge all of you to implement a stretching routine in your daily lives. Should be done twice a day for ten to fifteen minutes.
Last year I almost tore my soleus muscle in my calf due in part to poor flexibility and to a lesser extent ...fatigue. Dr. Said a total rupture would have stopped my athletic career in its tracks.
Since then I have improved my times dramatically.

8 miles at 8:15 per mile. Temp
Was 98 real feel. Outrageously humid.
Have been feeling sick ever since I came back. Don't know if it's dehydration or what

wow...While I admire you can do that, I would never want to run in such heat...I know you runners do all sorts of stuff like running in extreme heat and cold but I'm loving the air conditioned gym, at least right now!

Dude, that cannot be good for you to push that hard in those conditions...I feel sick thinking about it..feel better!

I'm doing barely nothing compared to you...too embarrassed to even post it but I guess it's a start...the damned meds are killing me...lowering my max HR so much that even at 110 bpm it feels like the work my heart was doing at 145...if I get to 130, It's not far from max right now..

It's gonna be this way 6-12 months...torture...

could be worse...yeah

Are those blood pressure meds? Those are tough to work with. A buddy of mine tried them once and almost passed out on a ride last year. Your better off staying at low heart rate anyways. That's where you burn more body fat
Yesterday was a perfect storm. Heat, humidity and I ran with a buddy that usually kicks my ass. Well not anymore!!!! I actually dropped him. I haven't checked the numbers but I looked down at my heart rate one time and it was at 180. I was at the pins and about to puke. Feel better this morning.

Did 2 sessions of Hypoxi. You basically run on a treadmill with a vacuum-tight suit on that encourages blood circulation in your problem areas (love-handles) to focus fat loss to that area. There was an article in Mens Health about it.
