Spied: Next Generation Mini Cooper
The cooper is getting ready for its second act

Our Teamspeed spies catch the new Mini Cooper during some routine testing this morning. Based on the new UKL1 platform, the new Mini will come in up to ten, yes you read that correctly, ten versions for this new generation including a van. The new platform will also be shared with all future small BMW's and will be available in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions.

According to our insiders the early prototypes share the dash section of the interior from the last generation BMW 1-series but not to fear, the production cars will get the Mini typical center mounted dials.

We also hear power may come from will an all new 3-cylinder engine that will make its debut in the new BMW 316i before finding its way in several other BMW/Mini cars later on.
