What kind of lists are you knobheads doing? The best cars EVER built and you just namedrop a bunch of random new sports cars?

1. Mercedes W124
All cars suddenly became 20 years older when this arrived. Still looks amazing today.

2. Citroën/Maserati SM
The equivalent of releasing a spaceship today. Absurdly modern and luxurious for the early 70s, and looks absolutely bonkers still.

3. Lancia Delta HF Integrale
The most successful rally car ever made and ran circles around most supercars at the time.

4. 993 Turbo
Prettiest car ever made, and mental quick at the time

5. M3 E30
No explanation necessary.

W124 FTW, when Mercedes colaborated with Porsche.

Did the suspsnsion raise up and down when you turned the key on/off?
I grew up in the French culture, so i recall a Citroen that did just that, a classmate's father had one. Not sure if its this one

Oh yes indeed - hydragas suspension. Same as the DS, which the SM was based on. Which just so happens to be another car worthy of this list!

To the Zonda has it all. The looks are remarkable. The performance is top notch. The 7.3L V12 engine is a beast. Most of all, for me at least, is the craftsmanship. The carbon weave is perfect in ever spot. Immaculate interior. Hand built specifically for each owner and the fact that Mr. Pagani himself deals with each customer make the whole package (IMO) the best one out there.

*This is all arbitrary since I have not seen a Zonda in person or purchased one.

Jox is on the right track.

- w124 500 e: most badass sedan conceived. These invented the big motor autobahn cruiser class, and it was a collabo with Porsche.

- 427 s/c cobra: simple, raw, American, the epitome of what a sportscar should be.

- cgt: Porsche perfection. V10

- McLaren f1: for, the ultimate Supercar of all time. Game changer.

- 964 turbo s flatnose: best 911 variant.

I'm with Mark, Zonda's do absolutely nothing for me. Neither do Koenigsegg's.

Again, let me re-iterate. Any list not inclusive of the CGT is wrong and I will delete those posts from here on out.

^^ Zonda use to do nothing for me either, but the Cinque gets me everytime. The sound alone gives me goosebumps.

I've been in 2 lambos 08 sl and a countach 5000 which was many years ago. I love the way they look! Imho the gallardo is one of the sexiest cars ever! But american muscle is what I grew up with. 69 chevelle ss 396 4spd the best car I have ever owned as a teenager.. Miss that car big time

To me, the Zonda is a mix of the best elements from the MacF1 (engine, engineering and craftmanship), the Spyker (outrageous styling inside and out with amazing attention to detail) and the Koenigsegg (unreal CF workmanship, unreal power, sound and presence). However, the end result simply does not add up to something that surpasses the F1 on my top 5 list. The same goes for a CGT for me. It falls short of the F1 in every regard except for looks.

Remember, this is the "Top 5 Cars Ever Built and Why" thread. Not a dream car garage thread. I stand by my list and gave my reasons why. It would be nice to see some people also explain the reasons why, otherwise this is turning into another dream car garage thread, and we have had plenty of those already.
