My 1st drive in a 981 Boxster S

Have you driven one with the buttons? I'm tired of people who have never driven, let alone owned, a PDK car with the buttons.
I had a C4S with PDK for two years with the buttons. Did they bother me? Nope. One handed shifting? Try that with paddles. FWIW, I never bothered with the buttons unless I was drinking some water - I always used the console shifter.
And why is it unacceptable? It's pretty ergonomic...

buttons dont look as cool.....thats about it. Guys on the internet (no saying this to anyone specific) always knock them but like Chris said - never tried them. I personally perfer the paddles after having a good amount of time with both - but dont hate the buttons

Yep - rented a Boxster with the buttons for a week in Scottsdale. The shifts were very slow and I simply did not care for the feel of using the buttons. It's possible having a more powerful engine with the C4S could make a difference but this particular car was not a great experience.
Agree with the BMW - those are silly.
