Question: Will the NEW Cayman...

TS,

(flame suit on and ready!)

- Will the NEW Cayman have an option for a sunroof?
- Will it have the 7 speed from the 991?
- Will it have any new wheel styles or just the ones from the Boxster?

Cheers!!!

Jon

My guesses are:

1) Yes.

2) No - the Boxster has the 6-speed, so the Cayman will too.

3) The Cayman had different wheels from the Boxster last time, so I think it'll be the same again.

1: HUGE NEWS! Where did you hear this? I know its not a big "performance" option and guys here will act tough and say "sunroofs make the heavier/not a race car/blah blah" but i for one love opening up the sunroof on a nice sunny day and listening to the motor and the road noise

2. OK - just wondering here...

3. From what i remember, the base wheels were the only ones that were not the same - but werent all the "upgraded wheels" the same choices?

Too much demand for sunroofs. Don't believe me? Look at the take on sunroofs on M3 coupes. A lot of folks got sunroofs (and DCT, but that's another rant) at the expense of the uber-cool CF roof. Porsche will probably realize a lot folks would like a sunroof on their Cayman. I just wish it had been an option on the 997 since I hate them.

I hope you are right. I want a new Cayman S in black over red with nice 20's, a sunroof, and Burnmeister sound package. Is that so much to ask?!

The reason the cayman didn't have a sunroof before wasn't because they didn't think the demand was there. It had structural problems when they looked into doing it.

My dollar says that there still won't be a sunroof option.

Yes, i knew that --- the curve and the "dome" shape that makes the Caymans look so cool prevents them (currently) from having a sunroof....but will that change?!?!

I hope you are wrong J

You thinking the new S will be a better Croc than the current R model?

Sunroof? no idea. doubtful; but we'll see. New 991 has glass roof option now ..... soooooo... maybe?!

6 speed, just like Boxster. Wheels different, of course.
