Mr.Gekko is an unknown quantity at this point
Looks to me like a manual transmission, I can see the leather boot,
Also, looks like you gotta start it manually with your key..

Can't wait to see this bad boy when it comes out

Several months ago I read where Porsche was planning to "upgrade" the interior bits & pieces with higher quality materials; possibly sharing some bits with the Panamera. But recently I read where they may choose to borrow more bits from the Boxter/Caymen lines to cut costs.

Lets hope its the former & not the latter.

First, not technically possible. I suppose if Porsche really wanted their QA people to commit suicide en-masse, they'd build something along the lines of a PDK/Manual, but for any other purpose it would be completely useless.

A PDK with gadgets isn't going to sell cars to people who want a manual.

Porsche will not do away with a m/t car. That would be suicide.

- not for at least 2 more generations.

Although 2 generations is 15 years away, I'll only be 37, if they do away with the manual, I'll be like Ferry Porsche and say "I couldn't find the car of my dreams, so I decided to build it myself." I hope it doesn't come down to that. Porsche seems like they were a much better manufacturer 2 years ago. Now they're being all technological and hybrid-ish and they're all about going green. I don't like it.

Your PDK/manual theory is bizarre to say the least. It's very plausible that they just threw a PDK wheel on a manual tranny test car, and the steering wheel buttons don't do anything.

The rest of the changes are all pretty much typical stuff, as the 911 adopts the new "corporate dashboard" that debuted on the Panamera and is also now on the upcoming Cayenne.
