but agree with above, keep Hamilton X-wind or Oris in mind. X-wind is a busy looking chrono of substantial size. i had trouble wearing mine with long sleeve shirts, but it looks great with leather jackets or wearing it as a sports watch. Oris watches are great pieces that come with interchangeable rubber straps and steel bracelets. never had one, so i cant comment, but if you can pick up a used Meistertaucher Regulateur for 700, go for it. found this pic on google:
