red dot sight on a budget
So I have a 7.62x39 rifle and want to get a red dot sight for it. Looking to spend no more than $100.00 as the rifle itself was relatively inexpensive. I'm considering the following brands:
- NC Star
- Truglo
- Bushnell
Does anyone have any experience with either of these brands? Should I stay away for any particular reason?
Thanks.

A scope might be a little much but Ive tried a truglo on my sks and its good so far. 1.5 power. I just dont like how you adjust the windage/elevation. You gotta unscrew the cover caps and then use a flat head which is gay.
Im also curious about some of those cheap red dots out there, Id hate to blow $60 on something that wont hold a decent zero or worse, break on the first shockwave.

I have the cheap BSA red dot version from cabela's on an RWS air rifle. The "zero" is very dependant on your cheek weld being consistant. The slightest variance and you are off target. I do not recomend this product. I would personally go for a "Normal" low power scope as your eye relief/point of aim will be more consistant.
Cabela's: BSA® .22 Red-Dot Riflescope

Thanks for the suggestions.
As for using the iron sights, they are alright for 40-50 yards, but anything close to 100 yards and you may as well be shooting with your eyes closed (at least with an AK).
I checked out a company called NcStar, they have some interesting options, but most of their stuff utilize a quick release weaver system. Knowing the power behind a 7.62 cartridge, I'm going to bet that the quick release mechanism fails and the optic comes flying off.
Truglo has an interesting option, 2x42 red dot. I know that it's nowhere as good as an Eotech/Aimpoint, but for 79.99, it's worth a shot.

I've got a $50 MSC holo site on my AR. It hold zero just fine, although its obviously not on something shooting 7.62.
I would advise against a low power scope on battle rifles as it ends up being boring. You sit there and aim for a while then hit every time. Forget rapid fire or tactical. Several of my friends did this and ended up buying holo/red dot sites instead.
