AP ROO Owners, talk to me.

Interestingly enough most of my watches are sporty. I don't see the ROO's or even the RO which I didn't know were different until this thread LOL aren't sporty at all to me. They are trendy. A large difference in my book.
I like a watch that people will look at. Admire but most likely Never know the name brand. Except real watch people.
I know I get flamed because I dislike Rolex for the same reason. People see Rolex and think WOW you are rich or Wow you are douche
sorry had to throw it in but you show up with a JLC or PP on your wrist and 99,999 of 100,000 people will say cool looking watch. Nothing else. They've got no clue.
AP is pushing for the Wow you are rich mantra and I just don't like it.

and the crowd screamed AMEN BROTHERHOOD UNIT..............
I mentioned Richard M in my way too much money for the bang post earlier.
Richard isn't going for the I am rich crowd because without question more Americans would call a Rolex Submariner out as the really expensive watch if you were to put it next to a RM because Rolex has nailed this crowd. People think its the best watch in the world.
RM does advertise a little. He's got his hooks in some people smoking his coolaid and they've purchased them but when you put one on. They just feel all wrong and then you just laugh at the price.
That being said his round RM025 type looks really cool. Price LOL out of the question though. He's just not PP quality or heritage.

1) in what dress do you find yourself wearing them? My watch guy claims that once you own one, you find yourself wearing it all kinds of different situations.
2) how often do you find yourself wearing it?
I'm on the precipice of picking up this one. New 44mm chrono with ceramic bezel.
Or go RO line, and get the steel skeleton one.

1. i wear BOTH with EVERYTHING from cotton shorts and nike/puma/adidas tennis shoes with tees/polos; jeans with shirts with casual sneakers; dressed up in the local traditional attire; i don't wear suits per se (never wear ties), but i would SOOOO rock either watch with a suit. true, they will not slide under cuffs
2. the only time i DON'T wear them is when i know i will be encountering a lot of water/grease or fear that i will be banging my wrists around, i.e. gyms and mech shops. otherwise, i wear them everywhere
allow me to add:
a. you WILL wear the watch if you get it hopefully, so if you are someone who wants their watch to stay looking 100% lnib please do NOT get a stainless steel BEZEL. black ceramic, rubberclad, carbon are all better choices for scratches
b. if you get the 44mm white dial ceramic you will love the rubber strap and its functionality; you will always find that it is really comfy with the tang buckle. the folding clasp is a great touch and i loved it; actually i was trying to find a clasp for my GP when i first bought it but then realized that it was REALLY a MUCH more comfortable-on-the-wrist option
c. even if you get a RO, i suggest you get a rubber band for it if you plan on really doing EVERYTHING with it. the RO line is BEAUTIFUL and has MANY great choices. dual time variations are stunning; while chronos are a perfect match of sporty, casual, dressy, gentlemanly and then some

allow me to conclude by saying that AP over here is so unknown that it is literally impossible for it to be recognized outside the circle of people who frequent the single mall where the sole local boutique is located. yes the prices are crazy but the producer and market make it 'worthy' (from "worth") because the resale is crazy good
edit: i really like how those 2 came out using my samsung fone cam

-could not edit post above so here goes what i wanted to add:
[edit]: i mention water specifically not because they are leather per se, but because the wetness/moisture with the natural leather will prevent me from performing my daily 5 prayers; not saying anything bad about the straps themselves
[edit]: my favourite 42mm would be the Bumblebee although it can be restrictive; personally i think it would work great.
for the price you are considering for a 44mm ceramic; did you consider the RG rubberclad 42mm? that watch is sheer brilliance in real life i thought
[edit]: i personally would NOT encourage buying an RO over an ROO based on "functionality" or practicality. i believe these watches should be motivated by PASSION, and BEAUTY / design alone. when logic kicks in, it becomes illogical to even consider these watches at these prices imho.

Very interesting discussion, after the fun jokes, it's interesting to observe watch fans in action.
One thing is that people seem to really jump to quick generalizations on people based on the watch they wear. It seems a bit presumptuous to say that because of the watch brand they prefer, they are somehow a certain type of personality or are wearing that watch for no other reason than showing off how much money they have. And in terms of TS, it really doesn't add much to the discussion, just annoys other members.
Sure, there are plenty of people who fulfill these generalizations, hence their existence. We could all name a douchey check out my all gold Rolex owner, the pretentious look how refined and aviation savy I am IWC owner, look at me I'm ballin AP owner, the I just care about the detailed hairspring in the movement which makes me somehow intellectual VC owner, etc etc..
But do you guys make these snap judgments that quickly when out in public?
Basically what I'm saying is, wearing an AP doesn't make you a jerk, wearing a Patek doesn't make you refined, wearing a Rolex doesn't make you old money, etc..
___________
Back to topic, appreciate the responses. I have VC, IWC, PP, and Rolex in my collection, so the idea of my next piece is to do something a little more fun, explore my boundaries so to speak. Going back to the AD tomorrow to try it on again.
The funny thing is the 42mm never sat comfortably on my wrist, but the 44, of all things, with my smaller wrists, were much more comfortable.
Thanks guys for reading.

i love both pieces u post. i have the ROO SS & was thinking about the RO SS Skeleton. i tried both the ROO SS is just more me. if u wear often shirt or suit i suggest the RO. although wearable, i just don't see the ROO rubber strap works with formal dress. if u're more casual, then the ROO is no-brainer.

Unfortunately yes the Rolex wearer is the easy pic. Lol at old money comment. Id assume poser making payments on a lot of the guys I see wearing Rolex.
The other day in Maui I was in a grotto pool watching some late Sunday masters and next to me a guy is spewing blah blah blah about this that and the other. Total douchebag and look their on his wrist. On a vacation. In a pool. In 85 degrees a Rolex. I would have bet 100k on the watch brand.
I don't think that way about the people that wear other brands. I thnk the brands are honestly classifying themselves with the way they advertise.
AP's IMHO market themselves to be the Baller watch. That's just me and my opinion. I think this is their downfall for me.
I do spell better while wearing my Patek
