AP ROO Owners, talk to me.

I'm relatively new to the horology/watch geek thing, been about three years since I got my first "real" watch (Breiling) and just picked up my second (IWC) fairly recently.
What the interest is, for me anyways, is how it makes me feel to wear either piece. I really don't care what people think about them, or if they will easily recognise them, or what kind of person they will think I am.
Of course, it's cool to run into another watch guy who shares the interest and notices your watch.
But for the majority of the time, I just look at each piece for what they represent for me. Each watch was purchased to commemorate a certain accomplishment in my life, so every time I glance at the time for a brief second it reminds me of each event.
So for me, it really doesn't matter what people assume of me for the watch I wear. It never really enters in the decision making process for me. I just buy what I think is cool, based on craftsmanship, history, looks and build quality. Good customer service and product backing is important to my decision as well.
I know this isn't exactly on topic, but 5 pages out of the 6 havn't really been on topic either lol.

Interesting how this thread has grown, for me, I enjoy talking watches and debating decisions with friends whose opinions I trust.
I'm the type that enjoys the hunt for the next piece as much if not more than actually owning it. Granted owning the watch is tons of fun, but spending time debating which to get is exciting and a good brain exercise.
I made my pick for my next piece, and am happy.

raiff, you strike me as an out-and-about guy so the only piece of advice i have is to consider ceramic/rubberclad/fc cases
the steel scratches easily, and although i personally cherish it let alone not mind it, i know some people aren't that way

It's all about how well you wear your piece. I have had numerous SS ROO's and not once ever scratched them.
