SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
Well, it is a Rolex Masterpiece that was found. It is an $80k+ watch, so he would know for sure and have feelers out if it were his... Just saying.

In fact, he did not have any feelers out. He is a guy who is always travelling. It is not a watch he would normally wear. The missing watch means alot to him bc it had belonged to his father who had passed. I know it is a long shot, but I only asked in hopes that it may be the same watch. The guy is the most selfless guy I have ever met and his generosity helps alot of people. So, it made me sick when I heard someone he trusted had taken advantage.

Anyway, I already e-mailed him this thread and the Rolex Forums thread. I also told him to call into RCS whether it is the same watch or not.

Returning that watch is a ton of good Karma. I would do my best to get it back to the owner!

Good for this guy, I hope the owner comes foward and has a nice finders fee for the guy who found it.

Not that it makes the right thing to do any different but the actual value of the piece is more around $25K, not 80K. With that said, the guy is doing the right thing and I would (and have done) the same thing.

I thought they retailed for that. My mistake.

I agree with the try to find the owner thing. Its not like you found 20 bucks on the street, thats fair game. Something like that is likely a keepsake or collection piece at the worst so you know it means something to someone.

If you couldn't find the owner I'd sell as well. Not a fan of heavy watches.

I tip my hat to the finder...Its hard meeting strangers with good morals, especially one that finds something as valuable as this.
